NEW: Where is the government in the UK HE jobs crisis?

We are approaching the very end of voting in the UCU NEC casual vacancy elections. So if you are still yet to post your ballot, the time to do it is now.

So far, we have shared two blog posts from our candidate for UK-wide rep (HE), Matt Barnard, which you can read here and here. Today, we are sharing a third and final post from Matt on why the current UK government is so reluctant to intervene in the UK HE jobs and funding crisis. We strongly encourage you to read it and share it with your contacts.

A reminder that if you are a member working in the North East (which consists of the Northern and Yorkshire and Humberside regions) you will also be able to vote in the casual vacancy election for a regional candidate. UCU Commons NEC members are endorsing Adam Hansen alongside Matt.
